A stupid
thing to many people. I mean, what’s the fun behind 22 guys running after a
ball? Not even I can explain what the fuzz is all about, but all I can say is
that the excitement and emotion of seeing your football team playing a game isn’t
comparable to any other thing! Not in matters of intensity but because of the
kind of emotion you experience.
I didn’t
understand much of it when I was a little boy, I didn’t even play. But one day I
understood that football is capable of forging a bond in people, reuniting them
in the same feeling. It’s like a war where no one dies. It’s the fun of measuring
yourself with an other, without having to leave your sofa or at much cheering
at the stadium.
My team,
Universidad de Chile, current champion of Copa Sudamericana and the national
tournament, is now in a struggle because they have to recover from an upside. Now
they have to win 2 – 0 to Boca Juniors to force the penalty shots in order to
get to the final game of Copa Libertadores.
